Location: Reading, Epsom or London
Salary: £65,000 to £75,000

SUMMARY OF POSITION
My client has recently outsourced all of their estate functions. In-order to ensure best value and operational excellence they are seeking to appoint a Head of Mechanical and Engineering.
This is a key role in my clients UK business, providing strategic & operational engineering and project management direction to Real Estate Service business.
The role will involve, managing the Hard Services projects activities across the UK and maximization of their portfolio of capital assets
The role will involve the following responsibilities:
· Management of capital and revenue budgets.
· Develop strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure that the projects management aspects of the capital projects are aligned with the maintenance programmes
· Ensure that the Projects & Engineering team are effectively resourced to deliver projects and management of the fixed assets of the UK portfolio
· Provide Mechanical & Engineering and CAD support to the Director of Real Estate Service and ensure that sufficient resources are allocated to the Facilities leads across the region
· To develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance management system for all Mechanical & Engineering plants to maximise service life and minimise maintenance costs and ensure that key systems remain operational
· Ensure that H&S forms an intrinsic part of all Projects & Engineering activity
· Liaise with Procurement for all aspects of commercial contract management and outsourcing opportunities
· Identify opportunities to benchmark key functions against world leading capabilities and report accordingly
· Identify and recommend spend to save initiatives on capital plant replacement with specific responsibility on environmental concerns.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
· Suitable qualification (ideally degree) in Engineering and or Project Management
· Chartered Engineer i.e. CIBSE, IMECHEC or IET
· A background in building services design.
· Encompassing both office and data centre operatives
· Significant project and engineering management experience gained within a consultancy or client organisation.
· The ability to review consultant & contractor designs, including calculations & drawings
· Basic understanding & appreciation of British (EU) standards
· Provide overview of expenditure & future financial forecast
