Title: Communication Systems Engineer
Location: Various Sites - England and Wales
Rate: £Negotiable + travel and accommodation expenses for site work
Duration: 1-2 year contract, potentially leading to Permanent Employment
Client:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions the transmission and distribution industry.
Role: To provide communication systems engineering solutions and support within the Network Management business
- Working in both conceptual and detailed design engineering environments, providing engineering solutions to the end customer in a timely manner.
- Generation and validation of technical specifications, reports, diagrams, test specifications, design drawings etc. to a high standard and as required.
- This role may include site based activities throughout the UK - such as configuration, functional testing and fault finding on differing communication platforms and architectures.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level or equivalent in a communications engineering discipline or similar; and shall hold demonstrable certification covering an array of communication equipment types.
- Experience and a good understanding in working with Analogue and Digital communication system applications within HV substation environments
- Good knowledge of communication architectures i.e. Power Line Carrier, Radio Systems and
Ethernet.
- Knowledge of SDH, PDH a necessity.
- Test & field working experience would provide candidates with a significant advantage.
